Uber is a transportation company which operates in around 633 cities in the world. We can connect to uber drivers with the help of smartphones apps. Uber has recently shared details of a flying car which can help you travel immediately to other cities in future.
Uber will reveal new concept images at its second elevate summit which will focus on its flying car.
According to the concept images, there will be four propellers around the aircraft which will help it to take off from the ground. The car will move forward with the help of a single rotor on its tail.
There will be passenger seats in the middle of the aircraft and there will be maximum four pilots who will transport the passengers to their desired destinations. Uber is employing its latest electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles common reference models, or eCRM.
In an interview, Uber said that “The eCRM design is pedestrian friendly, as the propeller blades are as high as possible, leaving ample room for individuals to board and DE-plane without having to duck. The high placement of the wings provides shaded entry into the cabin, shielding riders from light rain as they board. Finally, a point of entry into the eCRMs is limited to one side, simplifying ground crew operations and reducing confusion for riders when they approach their e VTOL vehicle.”
For the meantime, the car is to have a speed between 150 to 200 miles per hour. The car can fly between 1000 to 2000 feet. It can last for up to 60 miles before its battery needs to be charged again. Its battery can be recharged in just five minutes and the car will be refueled at the rooftop sky-ports. The sky-ports will be designed in such a way as to accommodate 200 liftoffs and landings each hour.
Uber had been working on this flying car technique for quite before. According to the company, taking the advanced drone technology and the urban transportation to air which is not easy for the travellers to overcome is the reasonable solution.
Uber wants its service to be known as Uber air which is a drone-based transport system that will not require pilots and in future will move to an autonomous system. According to Uber, the flying car will be launched by 2020 and will fly over Dubai, Dallas, and Los Angeles.
